This policy covers consumer health data: information that identifies or describes your physical or mental health. Lotus Pond is operated by NexThought LLC. Everything else we handle is described in our Privacy Policy.
Lotus Pond doesn't ask about your health. But the wording of your smart filters, which can name or describe a health condition, can be health data: a filter like "hide anything about my chemo" says something about you. We collect it from you, when you write a filter. Basic filters are matched in your browser, and the items they check are never sent to us.
We use the wording of your filters only to filter your feed, to explain and review its decisions, including when you send us a report, and, for a report you allow for training, to train and test our filtering models. We use it never to work out anything about your health or anything else about you, and never for advertising.
The first time you save a smart filter, we ask for your consent to process what your filters say, including anything about your health, and keep a record of it. Without it, you can still use basic filters.
To judge an item against your filters, our models and these service providers read the filters along with the item. None of them is told who you are.
We do not sell consumer health data. We have no affiliates that receive it. Our review team reads your filters only in a report you send.
Your filters are kept while your account is open, until you delete them. Deleting a filter removes it straight away, along with its wording in the records of past checks, except: an item held for a report you sent or for our review keeps its record, still linked to your account, for up to 30 days or until the report's review ends; and a report's copy in our training sets follows the training choice you made. A report you send also quotes the wording of the filters involved in its message, which we keep like other support messages until you ask us to delete it. When you delete your account, we delete your support messages and reports with it, at once, except any we must keep for a legal reason such as a payment dispute, which we keep unlinked from your account until the dispute ends. Backup copies are gone within 7 days. Messages you sent while signed out aren't linked to an account; ask us and we'll delete them. Records of the checks they made are linked to your account for 30 days; after that your account and your filters' wording are removed from the record itself, though some separate records can still connect it to you, as our Privacy Policy describes. The full table is in our Privacy Policy.
To make a request, write to [email protected]. We answer within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
If we change this policy, we will update it here and change the "last updated" date before the change takes effect. If a change means we would collect or share health data in a new way, we will ask for your consent first.
